Questions and answers

What is your opinion about buying instead of adopting pets?

I think that buying pets, sometimes, is something superficial, is to say to improve your image with an expensive purebred pet. That is not to say that people who buy pets are necessarily bad owners, it is just my perception. Anyway, no matter if you have a pet purchased or adopted, the important thing is that you take care of them.

What is your opinion about  climate change?

I consider that climate change is a very big problem that we must face today. I understand that the authorities don’t want to cause alarm or social and economic imbalance, but simplify the problem is not the best solution, it is not a solution, at all. The climate change effects are undeniably an global urgency, so people and specially authorities have to deal with.

What is your opinion about cloning?

When I think about cloning, the first thing that comes to mind is “human want to manipulate absolutely everything”. Even though I suppose I should not be surprised, I feel a little more disappointed. Today, everything is considered as completely replaceable, since a thing to a person. Also, I don’t understand why we would like to have more people in a overpopulated world.

What is your opinion about the legalisation of abortion?

I consider that the legislation of abortion is something difficult to discuss, because we are in Chile, a conservative country. I think that the problem is the notion of what “life” means, and what we will consider as “valuable life”. For me, is a hypocrisy that people defends the life of a no sentient creature but kill and eat others sentient creatures (animals). I am in favor of legal abortion.

Loves

Hi, today I will write about a topic that I don’t like so much: first love. It sounds cheesy, especially if we think of our first girlfriend or boyfriend. If I remember my first boyfriend, I don’t feel anything, because I never loved him.

I think that love is more than the first person that you liked, is something more pure, peaceful, stable… for example, I have been attracted to several people in my life, but I have fallen in love a few times (maybe).

I rather write about fraternal love as my first love. It is hard to choose to one or some people of my family, because I have always been very close to my family. Anyway, my first loves are:

My grandmother, Maria Isabel. She is a very important person for me, she is not perfect and she has made many mistakes, but she is a beautiful person with me, my mom and my brothers.
Also, my mother, Consuelo, is the best. I admire her a lot because I think that it was not easy being a mother at 18 years old. She has been a good mother despite the difficulties.
And my twin sister, Francisca. I consider her as my first love too because we were born together and I have always had a special affection for her.

I know it was love, and it is love, because it has felt simple, natural, unconditional.

Maritime archeology

Hi all, it's a little difficult to write about a postgraduate course, because I not even know if I will finish this major. But if I graduate from public administration, I think that I will consider taking a postgraduate course... I have not thought yet about what. It could be of a subject that interested me before public administration, such as: history, anthropology, archaeology, education, etc. Before deciding to study public administration I really wanted study anthropology-archaeology (at Universidad de Chile university), at that time I thought study maritime archeology abroad (maybe in Mexico, Argentina or Spain,
among other options), so I think that after graduating from this major I will take a course about archaeology or maybe anthropology. I like archaeology because I consider that discipline help conserve part of the history that should not be so undervalued.
The underwater archaeological sites are a valuable source of historical information because, thanks to the lack of oxygen, they usually keep material that has disappeared in the deposits located on the mainland. In Chile could be interesting to study, for example, the Moais that are submerged underwater in Isla de Pascua. Also, we have a very long coast and maritime territory. So, I would like to study about it abroad or in Chile, like a part-time course because I also have to work, obviously

Future job

Hi all, today I will write about my future job.
I consider that think about the future is quite uncertain, but there is nothing wrong has expectations and goals.
I am studying this major because I want to contribute to society and make the things better for people, although this seems a little dreamer and emotional. I think that public administration allows do it and more in many different areas. It is one of the things that like me most of the major. I don't want to limit my work area to just one, so I would like to have different works in the future. I would like to work in a municipality someday, also in a public service, maybe an NGO, a ministry… I don't know exactly in what will I work on, but I hope it is in areas of my liking, like environment, human rights, gender, culture, education, among others. I don't really matter if it is in a high or low charge, in that sense I don't have important ambitions. The important thing for me is work in something public and ideally in one of the areas that I like, to really enjoy my work, because I think that one of the worst things for me would be work in something that I don’t like.

Beautiful friends xd

Almendra's birthday

Hello, today I will write about my friends <3
I am a little introverted, so I have never had a lot of friends. Also, I consider that I am very selective with my close friends.

My first and and eternal  friend is my twin sister, her name is Francisca. We have a very close common friend since 2012, her name is Almendra. Generally, we like going out to the cinema or go to the beach.  Since we enter to the university we can’t see us often, because Francisca is studying in Valparaíso, Almendra and I are study in Santiago but in relative remote places :(

My drunk friends

My school friends are Claudio, Antonia, Maria Fernanda y Fernanda, in addition to my sister of course.  They are something like “party friends” but with the college life we all have become to ancient jajaj, we come together to drink tea and talk about our problems

And my university friends are those who I see almost every day, their names are Fernanda, Maicol and Ricardo. We met the last year, when we were “mechones”, they are awesome people. We hang out talking somewhere in the “escuelita”, or studying because we are very "mateos", or maybe only Maicol and Ricardo…

World challenges: Sustainable Development Goals

Hi everyone, today I am writing about an interesting topic: world challenges. For that, the first thing that I thought was The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015. There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals, some of the goals that interest me most are:
  •        End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture (Goal 2)
  •         Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages (Goal 3)
  •         Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all (Goal 4)
  •         Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls (Goal 5)
  •         Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all (Goal 6)
  •         Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impact (Goal 13)
  •        Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development (Goal 14)
Chile is one of the States Members of the United Nations. In the Voluntary National Review 2019, Chile indicates that our most relevant challenges are: comprehensive development, the agenda with indigenous peoples, child protection and a new health care model. It strikes me that, having an extensive coast, Chile does not consider Goal 14 “Life below water” like one of the most important challenges. Chile also indicates their compromise with environment and the fight against climate change, I think it is a little ironic, for all of the controversial international treaty "TPP-11".

School holidays

Well, I chose to write about my favorite holidays, because I have never been in a concert (so sad). The most similar to a “Holidays” experience that I have lived is a study tour financed by Sernatur. It was in June, 2016. The program consisted of six days and five nights, and it was designed to “Segundo medio” students.  However, in my school they decided that they would choose 5 students of each course, from “primero medio” to “cuarto medio”, until complete 40 quotas. My teacher  decided who would go (it was an arbitrary decision). So, I went to The lake district of southern Chile's Region X, with my sister Francisca and my classmates Oscar, Valentina and Ignacia.

It was a nice trip. I remember that we visited many places for the first time, because none of us had traveled so far before. We were in Los Angeles, Concepción, Talcahuano, Lota and Chillán. It was the best trip because my classmates were so funny and we enjoyed the dinners, the trips, the movie nights, etc. so much. Also, the south of Chile is so beautiful. The most beautiful place that we visited was “Saltos del Laja”.
