A person on public administration field that I admire is Michael J. Sandel. He was born in Minneapolis, in 1953. Today, he is 66 years old. He is an american political philosopher.
Sandel served on the George W. Bush administration's President's Council on Bioethics.
He is the author of several publications. His first book is Liberalism and the Limits of Justice (1982).
Other book that I know is Justice: What's the Right Thing to Do? (2009).
The last year, in the compulsory subject named “Ideas y debates políticos contemporáneos”, I have to read the sixth chapter of the abovementioned book. This chapter revolve around John Rawls theory of justice. Since then, it interested me.
He is also the author of the book What Money Can't Buy: The Moral Limits of Markets(2012). I am reading this book on the recommendation of a teacher. I like that Sandel raise the discussion about ethical questions of our time such as:
- “Isn't there something wrong with a world in which everything is for sale?”,
- “Should we pay children to read books or to get good grades?”,
- “Should we put a price on human life to decide how much pollution to allow?”, and
- “Is it ethical to pay people to test risky new drugs or to donate their organs?”, among other things.
I spent a long time thinking about what to write, but I couldn’t think of anything until I read Jorge’s blog and I realized that I am listening Coldplay’s songs, as I always do when I feel bad, and also when I feel fine, because I love this band.
Some people say that it is a melancholic band, and it may be true, but for me their songs are relaxant.
I like very much the voice of Chris Martin, I think is perfectly paired with the sound of the piano.
My favorite albums are A Rush Of Blood To The Head, X & Y and Ghost Stories. The first album that I mentioned is special because, in the school, my sister and I played those songs, sometimes on piano, other times on guitar.
One of the goals that I have since I was a child is go to a Coldplay’s concert with my sister, I wish we could do it soon.
My best friend, Almendra, also likes Coldplay, I remember that we saw Coldplay’s A Head Full Of Dreams documentary at the cinema last year.
Today I will write about my favorite photgraph.
This photograph was taken about 2015, I think that in January.
It shows my pet. She is a female dog and her name is “Choli”, I don’t like so much that name, but I didn’t want to change it when I adopted her.
This photograph was taken by me, because Choli was very fearful of all the people during the first months since I adopted her, except with me. Today, she is very lovely with some people, like me, my family, my boyfriend and some friends.
I like this photo because it reminds me of good times, and beautiful moments with my pet, like when we play or when we take a walk, she loves the walks.
Choli is one of my pets, I have two other dogs, they are “Bobo” and “Bucky”. And I also have a cat, his name is “Gato”.
Generally, I look photos of my pets, family or friends when I miss them.
